We are a for profit social enterprise, which means that we believe that we play a part in human and environmental well-being and do so by reinvesting surplus time and money into causes that bring about positive change within our global communities.  Supporting our local communities has been the backdrop of our business and a core part of our values.  This passion for making a difference is why every employee and partner at The LAMAC Group participates in The Causes Program.  We continue our legacy in Toronto and Western New York by working with a number of community projects such as the two featured programs below: Together We Are Better and S.M.I.L.E. Butterfly.

The Together We Are Better Parents and Professional Committee (TWBPP) was inspired by our kiddies who attend a family oriented therapy and private school in Toronto. They provide educational and therapeutic programs to children with Autism, Down Syndrome, ADD, ADHD, and children with developmental delays and other exceptionalities. With a motto that “All of our Kids Learn, All of our Kids Grow!”

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty. “~ Maya Angelou

We are organization that supports and encourages children having accessible support for education worldwide.  Similar to the Butterfly Effect in popular culture, we believe that small positive events can have large widespread consequences. As such, the call to action is for activities that include fundraising for school fees, collecting backpacks and basic school and other teaching supplies, supporting a breakfast program and scholarships.

gear Inspirational Stories – With Thanks

“Words cannot describe how I am feeling at this moment I am so elated to know that the barrels are on their way to us. There is a feeling of sheer joy that is bubbling up inside me. I want to thank all those wonderful persons who are so generous to us. The staff, parents and students continue to sing praises for the contributions we have received. I am cognizant of the long way things will go to enhance our school and students’ performance and make Nain the school of choice. Thank you so very much from all of us at Nain Primary and Junior High and indeed the wider community.  These are some of the stories that I can remember: ”

–  V. Foster (Principal, Nain Primary and Junior High, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica)

  1. A Grade One student was so overcome with joy after receiving a bag that the student told the teacher that it was the first time she got a gift. The teacher was moved to tears. Another teacher shared a similar experience, but in that case the student could not stop hugging the teacher.
  2.  The day after the materials were distributed one student who was absent for a period turned up at school.
Teacher: Hello Suzanne, nice to see you. Are you feeling better?
Student: No miss, but I didn’t want to miss out on Backpack For Kids Day
  3. Some teachers related how students refused to take the bags from their backs even in class and they also reported that they received notes expressing thanks for the things they got.
